Job Purpose
The Accounts Receivable Clerk will provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to the company by ensuring the efficient, timely, and accurate processing of customer invoicing and accounts for all locations of F.N. Sheppard and Company.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Process daily invoicing with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring all customer billing is completed and documented according to company standards.
- Prepare and record daily check deposits, maintaining proper controls and reconciliation procedures.
- Enter and verify daily ACH transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal accounting protocols.
- Contact past-due accounts to resolve outstanding balances.
- Sort, organize, and file high volumes of paper invoices and related documentation to maintain orderly filing systems.
- Provide customer service support as needed, including answering incoming calls, addressing questions, and directing callers to the appropriate department/individual.
- Assist with additional accounting functions such as data entry, reconciliation, or reporting during peak periods or staff absences.
- Input and maintain accurate data with company-specific software systems, ensuring information integrity and adherence to established procedure.
Qualifications

- Working knowledge of how Accounts Receivable, invoicing, and the customer payment process integrates with the overall accounting function.
- Ability to learn new information quickly.
- Use and interact with computers.
- Reliable and trustworthy.

- Effectively manage one’s own time and the time of others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn necessary accounting software systems.
- Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and all F.N. Sheppard and Company personnel.
Education/Experience
- Formal training/education in General Accounting and/or bookkeeping coursework required.
- Education High School Diploma or GED required; Post secondary coursework or technical training is preferred
- Work experience in Accounting is preferred
