Burns Honda is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our dealership accounting team. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate with numbers, and comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and post all customer payments (cash, check, credit card, ACH) to the correct accounts.
- Reconcile daily deposits for Sales, Parts, and Service and prepare bank deposits.
- Maintain and update accounts receivable ledgers and customer account files.
- Generate and send customer invoices and monthly statements.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts in a professional manner.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, chargebacks, and returned checks.
- Inventory Control duties include entering vehicles into inventory through both the inventory screen and Accounting.
- Assist with month-end reconciliations and basic accounting reports.
- Communicate with internal departments (Sales, Service, Parts) to resolve billing issues.
- Perform other general office and accounting support as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; some college or accounting coursework preferred.
- 1–2 years of accounts receivable, accounting, or bookkeeping experience (automotive dealership experience a plus).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software; experience with dealership DMS (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Good communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Hourly rate of $19-$22 based on experience.
