Role Description
The Accounts Receivable Assistant supports the Credit/Accounts Receivable Manager and accounting team by processing customer payments, preparing daily deposits, maintaining accurate accounts receivable records, and assisting with a variety of accounting and administrative functions. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage repetitive, deadline-driven tasks with accuracy. Responsibilities include processing payments, preparing and distributing customer invoices and statements, assisting with reconciliations, maintaining organized records, and supporting month-end accounting activities. The position also serves as a key point of communication with company branches, sales personnel, customers, and the accounting team while providing general administrative support as needed. This position is primarily office-based and requires regular computer use, communication by phone and email, document handling, filing, and occasional lifting of office materials.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- General accounting and/or accounts receivable experience preferred; however, training will be provided for the right candidate with strong attention to detail, computer proficiency, and a dependable work ethic
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable performing repetitive, task-oriented work
- Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple responsibilities, and consistently meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
