Position Opening
We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Staff Accountant for a credit union located in Hawthorne, CA!
Accounts Payable in a credit union highly preferred or in a financial institution!
Job Details
- Type: Full-time, direct-hire
- Pay: $32.00-$40.00/hr ($66,560 - $83,200)
- Branch hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm or a shift close to that
Responsibilities
- Processing all accounts payable functions.
- Month-end close duties, including reclass and accrual journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Update and maintain the department's annual budget, providing insights into financial performance through various reports.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations as assigned.
- Liaison on budgets and contracts with management and other departments.
Requirements
- Minimum of four to five years’ accounting and Accounts Payable experience preferably in a credit union or related industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software processing invoices, manage accruals, and execute month-end close activities.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to prepare accurate financial reports and conduct effective general ledger reconciliations.
- Excellent communication liaising with management on vendor contracts and providing support for departmental budget inquiries.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and the ability to assist in audits.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of the General Ledger system.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
- Proficient and accurate use of 10 key calculator and other office machines.
