POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assess returned checks for stop payments, voids, reissues, or other appropriate handling.
- Audit Ad Hoc invoices in A/P workflow
- Batch AP invoice flysheets and post related batches in CMiC.
- Review special handling requests (i.e., Posted status, errors, no holds, discrete status verification) in preparation for daily check runs.
- Reconcile and enter manual checks & wire payments as disbursed by all regions.
- Work with the Payroll Department to ensure garnishments and tax payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work with Cash Management to apply wire transfers from several bank accounts for various companies.
- Determine and then delegate tasks based on the type of zero check request.
- Prepare for a clearing check run by reviewing zero check requests and entering necessary AP vouchers (debit or credit)
- Act on zero check voucher entry and understand implication on sub- ledgers.
- Assist Project Accountants with research and inquiries as requested.
- Resolve discrepancies in area of responsibility by interfacing with other departments, vendors, or agencies.
- Recommend and assist in development of methods to improve procedures and systems.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Two-year business/accounting degree, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred two years of accounts payable experience.
- Good understanding of accounting procedures and principles.
- Knowledge of basic computer spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to use 10-key by touch, accurately.
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
- Reliability, dependability, and flexibility.
- Ability to work and excel in a multi-tasking environment, and meet deadlines as required.
- Excellent reconciling and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy is critical.
