Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Sacramento - 100% On-Site

Experience Level: 2–5 years

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day AP operations. This role will be responsible for accurate invoice processing, proper coding, and ensuring all supporting documentation is complete, while assisting with month-end close activities. This is a 6 to 12 month contract work while the company is going through a systems implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and process a high volume of vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
• Review and code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers
• Ensure all invoices have proper approvals and supporting documentation
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts, as applicable
• Maintain organized and complete AP files and records
• Assist with vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
• Support check runs and payment processing
• Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger
• Assist with month-end close, including accruals and reporting

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Experience with invoice processing, coding, and document management
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience a plus)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
