Anderson University’s Business Office invites applications for a full-time position as Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist will process institutional expenditures with accuracy, ensuring proper approvals, documentation, and compliance with university policies and regulations, prepare payments, and maintain strong relationships with vendors and campus partners. The position also involves monitoring invoice processing in Workday, maintaining and updating supplier records, resolving discrepancies, and supporting key financial functions such as 1099 reporting, year-end audits, sales tax preparation, and unclaimed property filings. The Accounts Payable Specialist will collaborate and communicate with other university departments and support the Business Office with additional projects, as needed.
A high school diploma, a minimum of 2 years account payable experience, specifically in a business or educational setting, is required. Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a bachelor’s degree is preferred along with familiarity with Workday, Excel, 1099 regulations, and South Carolina tax requirements. Strong customer service, organization, and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within a deadline, and a commitment to Anderson University’s Christ-centered mission and community is essential.
