Job Description
Our long-standing and highly reputable client, located just outside of Halifax, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, in-office position will start on a contract basis and has strong potential to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, coding, and payment preparation
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to AP
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Post-secondary education in accounting or business is ideal; equivalent combination of training/experience will also be considered
- 2–5 years of hands-on accounts payable experience
- Experience with QuickBooks (considered a strong asset)
- Comfortable working with technology and accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with a client-focused mindset
