Accounts Payable Manager

Empath Health is seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Accounts Payable Manager to lead a high-performing team and drive accuracy, efficiency, and financial integrity across the organization. This is a hybrid role that will require one to work on site 3 days a week. 

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Accounts Payable Specialists, ensuring strong performance and coverage across all cycles
• Oversee end-to-end AP operations including invoices, payments, reimbursements, and vendor management
• Ensure accuracy in vendor setup, payment terms, and compliance with tax reporting (1099s, W-9s, unclaimed property)
• Manage month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and subledger-to-GL alignment
• Monitor aging, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Drive process improvements, cash flow management, and reporting insights to finance leadership

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of Accounts Payable experience, including progressive leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting and AP best practices
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and AP systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
