The Accounts Payable Intern at Cone Health gains hands-on experience in accounting by working directly with the Accounts Payable team. This role offers meaningful exposure to real-world financial operations, including invoice processing, payment workflows, and system optimization following Workday implementation. Interns collaborate with experienced AP professionals and learn how financial transactions move through a large healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mail data analysis — Review and summarize incoming mail to support the transition from physical to electronic documentation.
- Workday post‑go‑live support — Assist with projects that enhance AP efficiency after Workday implementation.
- Invoice processing — Enter, verify, and process invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- ACH promotion project — Support outreach to Cone Health suppliers to increase ACH payment adoption.
Education:
- Required: Must be in process of a college-level degree in a related field and a student in good standing.
- Junior or Senior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Experience:
- Strong interest in healthcare, nonprofit operations, business, or process improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work respectfully across cultures and align with Cone Health values.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to organize information clearly and logically.
