Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Accounting Specialist is responsible for processing and verifying invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring accurate and timely payments. This role maintains organized financial records, supports month-end closing activities, and collaborates with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and knowledge of accounting procedures are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable, from getting manager approval for payment to mailing checks to vendors
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly and resolve all discrepancies
- Record sales and use tax
- Collect credit card receipts from cardholders bi-monthly, and ensure timely payment of cards
- Assist with capital spend tracking
- Receive and reconcile fuel inventory
- Record and reconcile warranty credit memos
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes (including 1099 forms to vendors)
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a minimum of 3 years related experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, SAP, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk for the majority of the shift.
