249 work contract, July 01 to June 30

SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable Generalist position assists the Accounts Specialist in ensuring that the duties of the office are performed efficiently, timely and accurately.The duties include a variety of functions that include: gathering of invoices – via email and inter- office and postal mail – and align them with the purchase order that is associated. Receivables via warehouse or deliveries need to be verified via receivers, payment authorizations from sites or by verifying through the receiving database. It is important to understand the account strings and to be in alignment with the invoice payment dates.  Accuracy, organization and attention to detail skills are important and a necessity as the files are accessible by other departments, as well.

• Knowledge of basic accounting software (preferably for “School ERP Pro”, also known as Infinite Visions) and Excel preferred

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must successfully complete pre-employment paperwork and background check
prior to hire

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret invoices, purchase orders and required legal
documents.   Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Los Alamos Public
Schools employees as well as state and federal agencies

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must be able to apply mathematical operations to such extent as to adequately
complete job duties

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
