Job Description
Our client in the Halifax area, is looking to add an Accounts Payable Coordinator to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative office environment. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely entry into the accounting system
- Prepare and coordinate weekly and monthly payment runs
- Reconcile supplier accounts and investigate and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
- Maintain organized accounts payable records and ensure data accuracy
- Build positive working relationships with vendors and internal departments to respond to payment inquiries
- Support month-end accounting activities by preparing AP reconciliations and related documentation
- Assist with continuous improvement of accounts payable processes as needed
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, or a related field is considered an asset; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
- 2+ years of experience in an accounts payable or accounting support role
- Experience working with QuickBooks is an asset
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new accounting systems and technology
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, service-oriented approach
