PROFILE SUMMARY

Wesgroup is poised for substantial growth over the next several years and in preparation for this exciting and challenging phase, we are actively seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team.

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely payments across multiple entities while partnering closely with Operations, Accounting, and external vendors. Reporting to the Manager of Accounts Payable, you’ll support the full AP cycle and contribute to process improvements that keep our business running smoothly.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accounts Payable Operations

Complete 3‑way matching (invoice, purchase order, and receipt) for invoices received via email and mail Review, code, and process invoices accurately in collaboration with Operations and Accounting teams Maintain the AP inbox, ensuring timely responses, proper document retention, and organized electronic filing Prepare bi‑monthly payment runs and process rush or manual cheques as required Process payment adjustments in Yardi for vendors paid by PAD, wire transfer, or credit card Resolve unpaid or delayed invoices due to missing or incomplete information and maintain the outstanding invoice report

Vendor Setup, Compliance & Relationship Management

Set up and maintain vendor records, including:

WorkSafeBC clearance GST verification EFT/PAD details

Certificates of Insurance (COI) Perform daily/weekly WorkSafeBC compliance checks and follow up on delinquent accounts Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies Communicate professionally with vendors regarding invoice, payment, or statement issues Proactively encourage cheque‑paid vendors to transition to Direct Deposit

Construction & Development Accounting Support

Follow up with consultants and trades on discrepancies related to:

Contracts Schedules of Values Statutory Declarations Notices of Substantial Completion

Administer the Builder’s Lien Holdback process, including tracking and release support Process intercompany chargebacks accurately and on time

Accounting & Reconciliation Support

Support GST reconciliations and related reporting Assist with general AP reconciliations as required Process and record tenant cash receipts (AR support) Track and record cheque and EFT deposits accurately

Team Support & Continuous Improvement

Contribute to ad‑hoc tasks and special projects as assigned by the Manager of AP Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and opportunities within AP processes Collaborate closely with team members to meet deadlines and maintain high service standards

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

2+ years of experience in an Accounts Payable or accounting‑related role Solid understanding of the full AP cycle Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines Clear, professional communication skills and a customer‑service mindset Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Proficiency in MS Word and Excel Experience with Yardi is an asset Background in real estate, development, or construction is a strong asset

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

Annual Base Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $50,000 - $60,000 per annum.  Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
