Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking anAccounts Payable / Accounting Clerk to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain exposure to a broad range of accounting functions while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will support accounts payable operations, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. This role offers strong learning and growth opportunities for both emerging and experienced accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently within the ERP system
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
- Maintain vendor records and respond to supplier inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable accounts
- Prepare payment batches, including EFT, cheque, and wire payments
- Process employee expense reports and corporate credit card reconciliations
- Assist with bank reconciliations, cash management, and general accounting activities
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Support external audit requests and preparation of working papers
- Help identify process improvements and strengthen financial controls
- Provide backup support for accounts receivable activities as required
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply
- 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
- Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end processes
- Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor experience considered an asset)
- Manufacturing industry experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
