The Accounts Payable & Grain Settlements Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process while ensuring accurate and timely settlement of grain purchase transactions. This role supports financial integrity through detailed reconciliation, reporting, and collaboration with internal departments and external vendors, particularly within the Western Canadian grain market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify and settle daily Grain purchase tickets for Western Canada Canadian growers.
- Process general AP invoices into Accounts Payable system.
- Create and upkeep producer and vendor files, payment records, and other financial reports.
- Preparation and submission of monthly levy reports.
- Reconciles intercompany and vendor statements monthly.
- Responds to inquiries from vendors and other departments in a timely manner.
- Assisting with quarterly and year-end audits and other projects as needed.
- Complete month-end accruals.
- General office administration duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable, accounting, or financial administration.
- Experience in grain settlements, agriculture, or commodity-based industries is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
