Position Overview
DFX is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.
This position is responsible for overseeing accounts payable processes, supporting general ledger activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. The right candidate will have prior QuickBooks experience, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process high-volume accounts payable invoices, vendor payments, and daily accounting transactions exceeding 500 transactions weekly
- Perform heavy data entry with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain precise and organized records of all financial activity
- Perform reconciliations including vendor statements, credit card transactions, bank accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
- Assist with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end processes
- Ensure accurate coding and allocation of expenses
- Support construction job costing processes and maintain accurate job cost tracking
- Support accounts receivable and other accounting functions as needed
- Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes from an accounting and administrative perspective
- Ensure compliance with vendors, internal departments, and leadership regarding financial matters
- Support additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting support roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, reconciliations, and general ledger functions
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Experience handling high-volume transaction processing and heavy data entry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience with construction job costing
- Prior experience in the construction and/or home services
