Description:
Oregon Corrections Enterprises (OCE) has a full-time opening for an Accounting Technician working at the Administrative Office in Salem, Oregon. As an Accounting Technician, you will process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, complete month end journal entries, and support invoicing and collections activities. The successful candidate will work closely with AICs and internal teams, delivering outstanding customer service across all financial functions. This position offers a competitive compensation package including employer paid health, vision, dental, paid time off, and retirement through the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and 11 paid holidays per year.

- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Experience in Collections
- Experience in preparing monthly bank reconciliations
- Experience in recording and maintaining fixed asset registers
- Critical attention to detail
- Experience with billing and invoicing
- General knowledge of computerized accounting systems and how they aid in compiling, maintaining, and using accounting information.
- Extensive knowledge of techniques used to locate errors in accounting records.
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting agency fiscal information from reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong capability in Excel
- Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to balance multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally
Working Conditions:
- May be required to work some late and unusual hours
- Requires willingness to travel in or out of state, including some overnight trips
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
- Long periods of sitting at a desk and/or looking at a computer screen
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable experience
OR
- One (1) year of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable experience AND an Associate’s degree in Accounting
- Pass an initial and annual Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) criminal background check screening.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening as a condition of employment.
