Qualifications
The Accounting Technician ensures the smooth and accurate operation of all financial processes. In this role, you will:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and vendor payments
- Receive, record, and deposit school funds accurately and securely
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, ledgers, and reconciliations
- Assist with audits and maintain detailed financial documentation
- Track classroom, grant, and program expenditures
- Maintain compliance filings, including Secretary of State documentation
- Support purchasing and inventory tracking for materials, supplies, and equipment
- Provide professional, courteous service to staff, vendors, auditors, and board members
- Serve as a reliable resource to managers and department leads on fiscal procedures
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Drive to local sites such as banks or the post office as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the school’s mission and values
Qualifications and Skills
- Required experience with Specialized Data Systems/LINQ software
- Must be a notary public or willing to become one within six months of hire
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
- Ability to work effectively with auditors, board members, and administrators
- Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and excellence
