YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the person in this position will be responsible for:
Accounting and Financial Operations
Participate in the entire accounts payable and accounts receivable management cycle (Telefilm (TFC) and the Canada Media Fund Program Administrator (CMFPA)), including payments and deposits. Verify and process invoices and code payment requests for funding program payments, administrative payments, and expense accounts; Perform bank reconciliations, monthly reconciliations between general ledgers and subsidiary ledgers, and post journal entries; Prepare various month-end, quarterly, year-end, and ad hoc reports; Enter data on revenue, expense accounts, and vendors into the financial system, validate it, and correct it as needed; Analyze discrepancies between the financial system and the operational system; Ensure that the financial system matches government audit files; Prepare monthly tax reports;
Proactive Disclosure and Compliance
Participate in the proactive disclosure processes for policies (grants and contributions, contracts, travel and entertainment expenses, etc.).
Customer Service and Administrative Support
Provide customer service to internal and external clients of TFC and the APFMC. Assist with managing and monitoring the email inbox related to payments.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Professional or College degree in administration/accounting or any other related discipline or combination of equivalent and relevant experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role. Knowledge of taxes (GST, HST, QST); Proficiency with Microsoft Office; must be highly skilled in Excel, particularly for data analysis and manipulation using lookups, pivot tables, and subtotals; Knowledge of the Oracle financial system will be considered a significant advantage; Knowledge of the federal government and the audiovisual industry is an asset; Ability to work quickly, versatility, and the capacity to handle a high volume of daily transactions Bilingual, excellent written and oral communication required, at CBC level.
