We're seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to play a key role in managing the financial operations of construction projects. What You'll Do
- Prepare quarterly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports for external accountants.
- Collaborate with outside accounting firms on financial statements and tax returns.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries in QuickBooks.
- Track project costs, subcontractor payments, payroll taxes, and workers' compensation entries.
- Prepare annual contractor licensing and tax documentation.
- Complete Bureau of Workers' Compensation paperwork.
- Maintain PTO and Vacation Fund records in Excel.
- Coordinate insurance and union audits.
- Manage insurance documentation for rented project equipment.
- Prepare proposals, project budgets, and cost estimates for silo maintenance projects.
- Complete vendor and customer credit applications.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with revenue projections, operating budgets, estimating, and job cost reporting.
- Perform bank transfers as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in construction accounting or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of financial statements, budgeting, journal entries, and job costing.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience with workers' compensation, insurance audits, or union reporting is a plus.
