Accounting Systems Specialist – ERP, Data Management & Automation
We are seeking an Accounting Systems Specialist to support the management, optimization, and integration of financial systems and accounting data. This role will work closely with Accounting, Finance, and IT teams to improve data accuracy, streamline reporting processes, support ERP initiatives, and enhance automation across financial operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles along with hands-on experience supporting ERP systems, financial databases, reporting tools, and automation solutions. This position requires someone who can analyze complex financial data, troubleshoot system issues, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through technology.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Data Management & Reporting
- Manage and consolidate financial data from multiple accounting systems and business sources.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial information.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Develop standardized reporting processes and financial data structures.
- Prepare reports and analysis to support business decision-making.
ERP Systems & Data Migration
- Support ERP implementation, upgrades, and system enhancement projects.
- Assist with data migration, conversion, cleansing, and validation activities.
- Manage financial master data, including vendors, customers, accounts, and transactional records.
- Develop and maintain data mapping documentation and migration procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors during system initiatives.
Automation & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using spreadsheets, scripts, and other tools.
- Create and optimize solutions involving:
- Microsoft Excel
- Accounting software platforms
- ERP applications
- Reporting tools
- Automate recurring accounting tasks and reporting workflows.
- Improve operational efficiency by reducing manual processes and data entry.
Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Create financial reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking tools.
- Extract and analyze data from ERP and accounting systems.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Assist with audit preparation and financial data requests.
Technical Support & System Administration
- Provide support for accounting applications and financial systems.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions with IT teams.
- Maintain accounting databases and reporting environments.
- Assist with system security, access management, and compliance requirements.
- Support integrations between financial applications and business systems.
Documentation & Training
- Create and maintain system documentation, procedures, and user guides.
- Document workflows, reporting processes, and system configurations.
- Train users on financial systems and automation tools.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and digital transformation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience supporting accounting systems, ERP platforms, financial applications, or similar technology-focused accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and data management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- Macros/VBA
- Power Query
- Data analysis functions
- Experience with accounting software platforms and ERP data migration projects.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Technical Skills
Preferred experience with:
- ERP administration and implementation
- Financial data migration and reconciliation
- SQL and database management

Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, or other accounting-related certification.
- ERP implementation or system administration experience.

- Experience with workflow automation and system integrations.
