Job Summary
The Accounting Systems Analyst will play a key role in supporting the organization’s accounting operations, financial systems, reporting, and data analytics initiatives. This position serves as a bridge between Accounting, Finance, IT, and Operations by leveraging technology and financial expertise to improve reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and support strategic decision-making.
The Accounting Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting month-end close activities, maintaining financial data integrity across multiple ERP systems, assisting with system integrations, and developing financial reporting and dashboard solutions. This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting or finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment and enjoys process improvement, automation, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and support general ledger integrity
- Prepare financial schedules, variance analyses, and management reporting packages
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities
- Analyze financial trends and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with audit requests and year-end reporting requirements
Systems & Data Management
- Serve as a key resource for financial systems, ERP integrations, and reporting tools
- Support the integration and consolidation of financial data across multiple ERP systems
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies between source systems and financial reports
- Build and maintain advanced Excel models, Power Query reports, and automated reporting solutions
- Develop SQL queries and data validation reports as needed
- Create and maintain dashboards and business intelligence reports using Power BI or similar tools
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve reporting efficiency, automation, and data accuracy
- Assist with ERP implementations, upgrades, and finance transformation initiatives
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Support internal and external audit activities
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Assist with documentation of financial and reporting procedures
- Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and IT leadership on continuous improvement initiatives
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial systems, or a related hybrid role
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage X3, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, Power Query, lookups, formulas, and financial modeling
- Working knowledge of SQL or other query/reporting tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information in business terms
Preferred
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools
- Experience supporting ERP implementations or system integrations
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-site environments
- Background in logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or 3PL operations
- CPA, CMA, or advanced analytics certifications are a plus
