Accounting Support Specialist
Position Summary
The Accounting Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the accounting department through accurate processing, organization, and maintenance of financial data. This role is highly process-driven and requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working within structured workflows to ensure financial information is complete and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
- Process financial transactions, including cash activity, deposits, and general accounting entries
- Maintain supporting schedules (prepaids, deposits, and other recurring account reconciliations)
- Assist with monthly close activities by preparing and posting routine journal entries
- Match and reconcile bank transactions; maintain organized supporting documentation
- Support banking functions, including deposits and cash tracking
- Ensure financial data is entered accurately and timely in accordance with established procedures
- Identify and flag discrepancies or missing information for review
- Maintain organized electronic files and documentation for audit and reporting purposes
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Accounting team members to ensure completeness of financial records

Qualifications
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred
- Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Highly organized with the ability to manage recurring tasks and deadlines
- Ability to follow established processes and procedures consistently
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
