A well-established organization is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to support key accounting operations and lead a small team. This position combines technical accounting responsibilities with staff supervision and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, management experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to leadership, this role will contribute to the month-end close process, financial reporting, accounts payable oversight, compliance activities, and ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support a small accounting team, providing guidance and performance feedback.
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Oversee select accounting functions, including vendor payments and general ledger activities.
Prepare and review financial reports and analyses for management.
Support audit and tax-related processes by gathering documentation and coordinating with external partners.
Monitor key accounting metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
Partner with internal departments to support operational and financial objectives.
Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
Prior experience leading or mentoring team members preferred.
Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Compensation & Benefits
