JOB TITLE: Accounting Specialist

COMPENSATION RAGE: $23-$25 per hour

SUMMARY: Provides support to the Accounting Department

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs routine accounting activities such as data entry
• Maintenance of the general ledger
• Preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports
• Accounts Payable Experience Required
• Complete moderately complex calculations using spreadsheet and other software tools
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
• Prepares journal entries for entry into the general ledger system monthly, by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing support for the journal entries
• Performs account analysis to ensure account balances and entries are correct
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain accurate records and provide accounting support
• Prepare financial reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Complete individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner and provide an abstract recap for the results
• Assists with related special projects as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree with experience preferred or 2-5 years relevant experience
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Experience in Open Invoice, Track, and Ariba preferred
• 10-key by touch.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills
• Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts.
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Acute attention to detail.

• Work with other departments to obtain information as needed
• Assist other departments in providing information and training as needed
