Accounting Specialist

At Genisys Credit Union, we value our employees who are essential to our ongoing growth and success as a financial institution of choice. We are currently seeking motivated candidates for a Full Time Accounting Specialist position at our Home Office in Auburn Hills, MI. 

Position Purpose:   

Post, reconcile, and maintain the integrity of General Ledger accounts in relation to the on-going operations of the Credit Union. Balance and reconcile member transactions, execute operational batch processes, balance the corresponding settlements, and post third party reporting totals, within scheduled timelines. Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly reports as required. Provide accounting-related support for Credit Union operations.  

Job Duties (include but not limited to):   

• Post and reconcile daily item processing files.  
• Process member requests for foreign and domestic wire transfers.  
• Process ACH Origination/EFT requests, payroll deductions and automatic transfer requests.  
• Perform Accounts Payable function for Credit Union.  
• Reconcile assigned General Ledgers on a monthly basis.   

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Accounting preferred  
• Previous Credit Union or other financial institution experience desired .  
• Knowledge of related PC applications including MS Office products, with emphasis on Excel, required.  
• Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and procedures including account reconciliation required.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.  
• Attentive to detail and accurate.  
• Good analytical skills.  
• Able to use related computer applications and office equipment.
