Frontier Regional School District is seeking a qualified Accounting Specialist to provide support to the Business Office and Director of Business Administration in all aspects of the district's financial and business services.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business Administration required, Master’s Degree preferred. Comparable experience may be considered. Knowledge of fund/governmental accounting, computers, payroll systems, and municipal law.
REPORTS TO: Director of Business Administration
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a full set of accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversees and executes accounts receivable and payable functions.
- Reconciliations of District funds.
- Maintains a continuous internal auditing program for all funds.
- Provides material as requested to assist external audits of Frontier Regional School District.
- Issues notes and borrows money after approval of the School Committee.
- Ensures fiscal compliance with District, State, and Federal statutes, regulations and/or policies.
- Works closely with the Superintendent and Director of Business Administration relative to all fiscal matters.
- In conjunction with the Director of Business Administration, prepares budgets and financial reports.
- Participates in audits, including the annual financial audit and program audits. Initiates improvements or corrections as recommended in these audits.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements as requested by the Director of Business Administration.
- Participates in the preparation of the State End-of-Year Financial Report, periodic progress reports, and other documents as required by the Director of Business Administration.
- Provides support in all aspects of the business office, including but not limited to purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Provides support in the management of the Food Service program as needed.
- Provides support as needed with facilities matters.
- Performs other fiscal duties as required by the School Committee & Director of Business Administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and is benefit-eligible. $30.00-$35.00 per hour.
