JOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Specialist position is a critical position within the Corporate Finance department. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely completion of the financial close process, managing the administration of the Company’s Travel & Entertainment (T&E) program, and providing part-time support to the Accounts Payable department to ensure the proper payment to vendors in a timely and accurate manner. This role reports to the Assistant Corporate Controller and partners closely with the Accounts Payable Supervisor, who provides dottedâline oversight for AP processes and priorities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
General Ledger Accounting:
- Support the month-end close process by adhering to corporate policy, procedures, and deadlines geared toward an efficient and coordinated month end close.
- Ensure journal entries are posted timely and accurately. Prepare and post a variety of standard monthly journal entries.
- Provide detailed account reconciliations and analysis to support the Balance Sheet and Income Statement, including but not limited to: bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, payables and accruals, travel and entertainment, and other periodic expenses.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for thirteen multi-currency bank accounts.
- Assist and support external auditors as part of the annual audit and other annual examinations.
- Ad Hoc projects and special projects as required.
Travel & Entertainment Administrator:
- Partner with the credit card administrator team to manage T&E for the Company, including Concur administration and maintenance, while ensuring adherence to T&E policies and procedures.
- Perform monthly accounting for T&E expenses and out-of-pocket reimbursements.
- Maintain periodic reporting of T&E spend on behalf of internal stakeholders.
Accounts Payable:
- Processing a high volume of end-to-end invoice transactions.
- Ensure invoices are coded accurately and routed for approval.
- Respond to internal and external AP inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist in ad hoc projects as necessary, such as vendor statement reconciliations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in general ledger accounting or corporate back-office functions, working for a mid-size manufacturing organization with revenues upwards of $250MM.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools / strong Excel is required.
- Microsoft D365 or AX experience highly desirable.
- Prior experience servicing internal customers in a shared service organization is a plus.
- Experience in utilizing AI or business intelligence tools to increase efficiency is a plus.
