    Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable (for the 2026-27 School Year); (FLSA Exempt)
    Reports to:       CFO/Treasurer
    Basic Function:
    To serve, assist and support the office and maintain a high level of efficiency, professionalism and effectiveness in the school district. Accounting Specialist provides a multitude of functions in the Treasurer's office.
    Qualifications:

    • Strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with district employees
    • Work history that demonstrates responsibility, reliability, and good attendance
    • Ability to work independently
    • Knowledge of Infinite Campus preferred
    • Knowledge of State Software Redesign
    • Knowledge of SCView, DocuWare, Edge Solutions preferred
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Open to change and willing to be involved in the change process
    • High School Diploma
    • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable preferred

     
    Responsibilities:

    • Process Purchase Orders through the SCView system, distribute Purchase Orders to buildings, follow Purchase order procedures from start to finish
    • Process invoices and payments via the Accounts Payable function
    • Provide a variety of Accounts Payable functions to the Treasurer's office
    • Process deposits which arrive at the Board of Education
    • Post district receipts including recurring payments from the state and local governments
    • Student activity functions including fundraisers, budgets and cash advances
    • Scanning of all payment and receipt packets into DocuWare
    • Be familiar with and carry out the school policies as directed by the school board, superintendent and treasurer
    • Adhere to Ohio Ethics Law, including confidentiality
    • Assist with the daily operation of the Treasurer's office
    • Maintain public records requests as required by Ohio Sunshine Law
    • Monitor and process budgetary transfers and transactions as needed
    • Any and all other duties assigned by the CFO/Treasurer.
