Accounting Representative I

We are seeking a full-time Accounting Representative to join our team and work on-site at our Central Road Operations Center in Bloomsburg, PA.
The Accounting Representative I is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the accounting function; reviewing documents, transaction, and worksheets relating to the accounting system; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
Essential Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of duties to support the accounting function of which the following are illustrative:
- Reviews various documents, transactions, and worksheets relating to the accounting system; makes required entries.
- Computes figures and prepares various statements and accounting summaries.
- Monitors accounts, checks, entries, and transactions; reports discrepancies.
- Updates income and expense accounts and determines ending balances; computes cash position and reserve requirements.
- Maintains spreadsheets; assists in compiling data for various financial reports.
- Compiles information from branch offices, Bank departments, and other sources and prepares related account entries.
- Performs varied account maintenance such as general ledger work, cash accounts, and reconciliations.
- Maintains automated accounting systems and uses computer resources to generate periodic reports and statements.
- Assists in the preparation of financial statements and reports required by the Bank, its external auditors, the Federal Reserve, or other regulatory authorities.
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness.
- Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate Bank personnel.
- Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to request from customers, other Bank personnel, etc., withing given timeframes and within established policy.
Requirements: The selected candidate must have the following skills:
- A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience in related banking position preferred.
- Moderate reading, writing and grammar skills; proficient math and PC skills; moderate excel spreadsheet skills; general knowledge of accounting principles and procedures; moderate interpersonal and communication skills; proficient ten-key pad skills.
Cooperates with, participates in, and promotes the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety, soundness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This includes annual Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training and complying with all BSA rules and regulations as the pertain to the job position within the Bank.
Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week, flexible to work additional hours as needed.
