Role: Processing payroll for 80+ employees and supports plant accounting manager with accounts payable. Work closely with planning, purchasing and human resources.

We have one opening for an Accounting/Payroll Specialist at our Dayton, OH facility—supporting a team that produces millions of beverage can ends per day. You’ll be the strategic partner keeping planning, purchasing and human resources running smoothly. Position Overview:
- Proficient data processing skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as skilled at relationship building with staff, visitors, vendors and plant employees
- Serve as the first point of contact, greeting visitors warmly, professionally, and in a prompt manner
- Actively engages in team work to help solve payroll and accounting issues
- Responsible for entering invoices into the IBMi system (formerly AS400)
- Manage inbound calls, resolve inquiries, and provide accurate company information
- Handle concurrent multiple tasks with tight deadlines
- Weekly time and attendance / payroll processing for 80+ employees
- Organize and order office supplies
- Responsible for managing visitor compliance (SQF & Safety)
- Interaction with visitors, corporate members, hourly and salaried staff
- Teamwork spirit and desire to support the team in different projects and activities
- Work closely with the Plant Accountant and Human Resources Supervisor
- Provide administrative assistance as needed within department and across plant

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with previous similar work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of payroll systems
- Strong clerical skills with the ability to process data with a high attention to detail
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Effective and proven verbal and written communication skills
- Proven work history in the ability to keep accurate and up to date records
- In-depth working knowledge of all components of the Microsoft Office software including proficient knowledge of Excel
- Working experience using IBMi (New AS400 version)
