As a Controller on the Chase Travel team, you are responsible for overseeing the month-end close and accounting operations—reviewing/approving journal entries, reconciliations, billing, treasury and filings—while supervising and developing the team and driving automation/process improvements.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with the month-end close calendar and pre-approved schedules
- Supervise staff and senior accountants and ensure that all month-end close activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure continued support of Chase accounting processes, as needed
- Review and reconciliation of bank accounts and treasury functions
- Review and approve client billing and client invoicing process to ensure that all invoicing adhere to client contract and terms
- Lead automation and efficiency initiatives, including the implementation and use of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) technologies
- Oversee completion, review, and submission of periodic local and international government filings.
- Coaching and provide continued development of accounting team to support the achievement of professional goals.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 6+ years of experience in Accounting (GL, AR, AP)
- Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office software, especially Excel
- Previous experience in large ERP systems required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent analytical skills – including the ability to present results.
- Strong leadership skills – combined with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated sense of urgency to produce results
- Innovative, creative and a problem solver
- The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while focusing on completion of the highest priority items in the shortest time frame possible.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the handling of large data elements is preferred
- SAP experience preferred
