Accounting Manager
Position Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Tri-State Orthopaedics and related entities while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position oversees daily accounting activities, provides leadership and support to the Accounting Specialist, and serves as a key resource for month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, accounts payable oversight, and process improvement initiatives. The Accounting Manager will support the launch and ongoing accounting operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), including management company responsibilities related to the organization's ownership interest. This role serves as a trusted business partner to the Controller and provides financial and operational support to physicians, leadership, and internal stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accounting Operations

Prepare and review journal entries.
Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure accounting transactions are recorded appropriately.
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
Assist with annual 1099 preparation and filing requirements.

Accounts Payable Oversight

Oversee accounts payable processes and serve as primary backup for accounts payable processing when needed.
Review invoices, payments, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Provide day-to-day training, coaching, and guidance to the Accounting Specialist to ensure accurate and timely completion of responsibilities.
Ensure timely completion of accounting transactions and reconciliations.

ASC & Growth Initiatives

Support the accounting setup and implementation of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
Support accounting and financial reporting responsibilities related to the organization's ownership interest in the ASC and associated management company operations.
Participate in the development of accounting workflows and reporting processes for the ASC.
Support implementation of new accounting software and related technology enhancements.
Assist in identifying opportunities to improve accounting efficiency and reporting capabilities.

Leadership & Operational Support

Respond to physician and leadership requests regarding financial information and operational support.
Lead or participate in special projects, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting requests.
Coordinate with internal departments and external business partners as needed.
Support benchmarking, budgeting, and operational analysis initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close processes.
Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Experience supporting accounts payable functions.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred

Healthcare, physician practice, or ASC accounting experience.
Experience with multi-entity accounting environments.
Experience participating in accounting software conversions or system implementations.
CPA designation or equivalent advanced accounting experience.

Work may involve periods of increased workload and extended hours during month-end close, year-end close, audits, software implementations, and other critical business deadlines.
Regular interaction with physicians, leadership, employees, vendors, and external business partners.
Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial, operational, and employee information.
