Accounting Manager

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.

Summary

This role manages the financial record keeping, reporting and other accounting functions with a focus on the Global Controllership. This position will support Global Food consolidation and coordinate affiliate and elimination accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external use in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards. 
• Accountable for completeness, accuracy and maintaining in-depth knowledge ofthe accounts and related content that make-up our Financial Statements.
• Prepares appropriate explanations relating to report items of particular interest or significance, uses some judgment in determining what would be of interest or importance.
• Assist with creating reports on financial performance for internal use.
• Oversees and evaluates the activities of the accounting staff and provides for their professional development and performance feedback.
• Assist in aligning and directing accounting policies and practices.
• Works closely with FP&A, auditors, public accountants and other financial professionals.
• Identify area of accounting risk and modify or implement controls as necessary to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of people on many different levels in person and remotely and manage interpersonal relationships and conflict.

• Prior supervisory experience
• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position
• Experience with JDE, Agvance, Power BI, Axiom or SAP preferred
