About the Company Hiring: Our client is a large, well-established organization with a collaborative accounting team supporting a diverse group of internal stakeholders. The accounting function plays a critical role in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and operational support across the organization.
About the Job: Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and staff development within a collaborative, high-volume environment. This position will lead month-end close activities, support budgeting and audit processes, supervise accounting personnel, and drive continuous process improvements. The Accounting Manager will serve as a key resource to both leadership and internal stakeholders while helping ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of the organization's financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee general ledger accounting and month-end close activities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Manage bank reconciliations, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Coordinate annual audit preparation and support external auditors
- Supervise and develop accounting staff
- Partner with internal stakeholders regarding financial reporting and budget performance
- Train and support non-financial users on accounting processes and procedures
- Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Maintain compliance with organizational accounting policies and reporting requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with general ledger responsibility
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred
- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting month-end close activities
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 base salary plus bonus eligibility
Job Status: Direct Hire. Fully onsite in Buffalo, NY.
