The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and
the review of monthly financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP. A successful candidate will be a self-
starter, with strong attention to detail, and analytical skills. This is a full-time, in office, position and reports to the
Controller.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the timely preparation and review of financial statements during the 5-day month-end close process and
- ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
- Manage sales tax, property tax, and other required regulatory filing requirements.
- Continuously evaluate existing financial processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improving
- efficiency. Leverage the capabilities of NetSuite and other systems to implement enhancements.
- Responsible for exploring and implementing new accounting automation solutions and integrating new technology
- into the accounting system.
- Monitor compliance with debt agreements.
- Coordinate and oversee the annual budget process for each camp resort.
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, and providing ongoing training.
- Participate in other projects and activities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. CPA or MBA is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience with 4+ years in supervisory role.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP system is preferred or 4+ years of experience with ERP solutions.
- Experience with evaluating, implementing, and monitoring new software or technology solutions to automate or
- improve inefficient processes.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel is required.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at
- remote locations.
- Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in excel and google sheets for reporting.
- Good attitude and work ethics with strong attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Follows through on projects to successful completion while meeting deadlines.
