Role Overview

This key position will be leading and enhancing the company’s accounting close, billing, and financial reporting processes to support scalable finance operations and improved financial visibility within a growing hardware and SaaS environment. This role oversees operational accounting and month-end close activities, including financial reporting, billing operations, revenue and inventory accounting, reconciliations, and the development and maintenance of strong accounting controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and year-end close process.
• Prepare review-ready monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate close timelines, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables.
• Manage hardware and SaaS billing processes.
• Ensure all billable events are identified and invoiced.
• Manage SaaS revenue recognition and deferred revenue schedules.
• Maintain ARR and recurring revenue support schedules.
• Reconcile contracts, deployments, invoicing, and revenue records.
• Manage inventory accounting and cost of sales calculations.
• Reconcile inventory, deployed devices, and invoiced devices.
• Oversee GL, AP, AR, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Ensure completeness of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate variances and operational-financial exceptions.
• Support KPI, operational, and management reporting.
• Support working capital and collections visibility.
• Improve close efficiency, reporting quality, and process scalability.
• Maintain standardized reporting workbooks and documentation.
• Support alignment across accounting, CRM, inventory, and billing systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve reporting and billing accuracy.
• Manage GST/sales tax reporting and support audit activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• CPA designation required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and multi-system environments.
• Hardware + SaaS or recurring revenue experience preferred.
• Experience with deferred revenue and revenue recognition preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
