Directs the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analysis of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The Accounting Manager is responsible for implementing the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationship with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline and CPA preferred.
Training and Experience: 2-3 years' experience in similar position. Government contracting experience preferred.
General Skills: Must be able to prioritize tasks; possess interpersonal and communication skills, highly organized; ability to handle multiple tasks, high analytical ability; attention to detail.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with Deltek and QuickBooks software preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting documents to be submitted to the parent company
- Directly responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll functions, general ledger and contract funding management.
- Preparation of tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, and other applicable taxes and business licenses.
- Responsible for federal, state and local payroll tax compliance
- Prepare contract price proposals and assist in negotiating contracts modifications with the customer, prime contractors and subcontractors.
- Assist in banking relationships and negotiating terms and conditions of bank fees, loans and lines of credit.
- Day to day responsibility for adhering to all accounting procedures and policies
- Maintain the company's system of accounts and keep books and records on all company transactions and assets.
- Preparation of establishing major economic objectives and policies for the company and preparing reports outlining the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
- Assist in the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.
- Furnish internal reports, revise and update reports to be more useful and efficient and furnish external reports as necessary.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
