Accounting Manager

A rapidly growing financial services corporation is seeking an Accounting Manager with industry experience on a direct hire basis. The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in a regulated or financial services environment, and the ability to manage accounting operations while partnering closely with leadership.

Company will consider a strong senior accountant with supervisory experience or an accounting supervisor looking for a promotion.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
• Review and improve accounting processes, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with finance, operations, compliance, and leadership teams on reporting, forecasting, and business initiatives.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• CPA preferred but not mandatory.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including current/ prior experience in the financial services industry.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, audit support, and internal controls.
• Strong Excel and accounting system skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
