Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager — 6-Month Contract
30 hrs/week | Fully Remote (Applicants must reside in the Los Angeles area) | $44–$48/hr

We've been engaged on an exclusive basis to help our client find an Accounting Manager for a six-month engagement. This is a strong fit for someone who wants to stay close to the numbers while also stepping into a leadership role, working across teams and helping steer key initiatives through year-end close.

The Setup

• Fully remote
• Roughly 30 hours a week
• Direct partnership with a seasoned CFO
• Wide-ranging exposure: accounting ops, budgeting, procurement, and audit
• A role with real ownership and visibility into the business

What You'll Own

• Run day-to-day accounting operations and general ledger activity
• Drive month-end and year-end close, including financial reporting
• Manage accounts payable, payroll, and broader operational accounting
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual analysis
• Prepare for and support the annual audit
• Work cross-functionally on procurement and contract review
• Manage two accounting team members, offering coaching and daily direction
• Look for ways to tighten up processes and improve efficiency

What We Need

• Prior experience as an Accounting Manager
• Solid technical grounding in GL accounting and financial reporting
• A track record leading close cycles, month-end and year-end
• Experience managing or mentoring junior accounting staff
• Microsoft Great Plains experience strongly preferred (other mid/large ERP systems considered)
• Sharp analytical and organizational instincts
• Strong communicator who follows through
• Self-sufficient in a remote setting, but genuinely collaborative across departments
