Overview
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a well-established organization in the Arlington, VA area seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations. This role will oversee core operational accounting functions, month-end close, financial reporting, and team/process management.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and experience operating in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities
- Manage general ledger operations and ensure timely, accurate accounting results
- Review journal entries, account analyses, and supporting schedules
- Supervise accounting staff and support team development
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Partner with leadership on reporting, audit support, and operational improvements
- Assist with systems optimization and accounting process standardization
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience preferred
- Strong experience with core operational accounting functions required
- CPA preferred
- Experience with large ERP systems strongly preferred, including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Unanet, Costpoint, or similar
- Strong analytical skills and ability to lead in a hands-on environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
