Accounting Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Accounting Lead to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, support the accounting team, and help build scalable processes as the company continues to grow.  

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, solving problems in real time, and helping create structure in a fast-moving environment.  

As the Accounting Lead, you’ll partner with leadership to ensure smooth operations, improve workflows, and support the development of the team.  

Accounting Operations & Team Support 

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across the team, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end close processes  
• Review work and help ensure accounting deliverables are completed accurately and on time  
• Serve as a resource for troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and supporting the team through day-to-day challenges  
• Step into operational accounting work as needed to support the team, manage workload fluctuations and help move priorities forward  
• Help maintain organized and reliable financial data and reporting processes 
• Identify workflow gaps or inefficiencies and help implement process improvements 
• Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members as they continue to develop 
• Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional accounting questions and coordination  

Process Improvement & Scaling 

• Balance immediate operational needs with longer-term process improvements 
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, organization, and efficiency across the accounting function 
• Help strengthen processes, documentation, and internal controls as the business grows 
• Support cleanup initiatives and help create scalable systems and best practices 

Financial Partnership & Support 

• Partner with leadership on monthly reporting and variance analysis 
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes 
• Help provide clear and actionable financial information to support decision-making 

What We’re Looking For

• 5–8+ years of accounting experience 
• Experience leading, mentoring, or acting as a day-to-day resource for an accounting team 
• Strong technical accounting foundation, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Someone who is highly hands-on and comfortable operating both strategically and in the details 
• Experience improving or building accounting processes in a growing or evolving environment 
• Ability to operate with flexibility, prioritize effectively, and create structure in ambiguity
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Clear communicator who works well cross-functionally and collaborates effectively across teams
