Summary:The Accounting Intern is a part-time position that provides hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Utah Soccer. Working alongside the Finance team, this role offers exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and event accounting. This internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain practical accounting experience in a professional sports environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with monthly entries for multiple revenue centers.
- Support accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and reporting.
- Assist with accounts payable processing and expense approvals.
- Help prepare event settlements and game-day financial reconciliations.
- Enter and reconcile company credit card transactions.
- Assist with account reconciliations and general ledger support.
- Prepare invoices and assist with reconciliations for various departments.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Complete special projects and other accounting or administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and game days as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous coursework or experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:This position primarily works in a professional office environment with occasional work at stadiums and special events. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and using a computer. Occasionally, the position may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 15 pounds while supporting finance and event operations.
