Accounting Intern

Purpose:

Temporary, part-time student to provide administrative/accounting assistance to the Accounting Department in general areas including Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets Accounting, and Accounts Receivable.

Job Functions/Accountabilities (Essential & Marginal):

This position will perform a variety of accounting, clerical and support functions including:

• Maintain Accounts Payable inbox and retrieve emailed AP invoices.
• Daily invoice processing as assigned; including data entry and scanning.
• Ensure proper and timely scanning of AP invoices in SAP.
• Review vendor statements, assist in resolving billing issues, and follow-up as necessary.
• Ensure proper and timely completion of administrative responsibilities in preparation of monthly closing processes.
• Assist with goods received/invoice received (GRIR) research.
• Adhere to JSOX internal controls and procedures.
• Assist Corporate Manager of Accounting with fixed assets accounting. 
• Assist with departmental annual 5S initiatives.
• Assist with projects, as needed
• Perform other accounting/clerical work as assigned

Qualifications:

Education:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Accounting Program – at least Sophomore level

Experience:

• Prior accounting intern or co-op experience preferred.
• Successful completion of basic accounting classes Excellent data entry skills and accuracy
• Excellent Organizational Skills
• Basic Excel and Word working knowledge and skills 10-Key operation skills preferred
• Outlook Email Knowledge preferred SAP experience a plus
