accounting functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
Working alongside the accounting team, this role assists with daily and monthly activities, including general
ledger support, account reconciliations, and research of variances. The Accounting Intern contributes to a
culture of continuous improvement by supporting process efficiency efforts and gains exposure to audits and
financial reporting practices. This position upholds credit union service standards while providing professional
support to internal stakeholders.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- sist with preparation of daily and monthly general ledger entries and supporting documentation.
- Support reconciliation of assigned GL accounts and bank statements; identify and escalate discrepancies for review
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and other administrative accounting tasks
- Assist with month-end processes and reporting activities
- Maintain organization of financial records and documentation to support audits
- Provide support for internal and external audit requests as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.

8. To follow all security policies and procedures and report discrepancies or suspicious activity to manager immediately.
9. To follow the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures, including running OFAC searches, completing investigative reports of suspicious activity and currency transaction reports timely and without error.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Interpersonal Skills Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills Basic understanding of accounting principles preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
