Compensation
The salary for this role is $20.00/hr. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New Jersey. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
About the Role:
We are seeking an Intern to support the Private Equity Operations Accounting team. This role is designed for students interested in finance, accounting, private equity, or energy infrastructure. You will assist with core accounting workflows, reporting tasks, and operational support across multiple entities. This is an excellent opportunity to observe how investment operations function end‑to‑end while developing essential technical skills.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Assist with saving and organizing NAV statements and investment documents
- Support weekly booking of cash and credit card transactions across entities
- Help prepare monthly and quarterly workpapers for internal review
- Assist in posting journal entries under supervision
- Support preparation of capital call and distribution files
- Participate in investor communication workflows (capital notices, account statements, K‑1 support)
- Contribute to special projects and process‑improvement initiatives
- Perform data cleanup, document management, and quality checks as assigned
Qualifications

- Are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Are organized, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment
- Demonstrate strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Are proficient in Excel (basic formulas required; willingness to learn pivot tables & lookups)
- Can handle confidential information with maturity and discretion
- Are curious about the alternative investments and private equity sector
Ideally, you have
- Familiarity with accounting or finance coursework (introductory level)
- Exposure to or interest in QuickBooks Online or other accounting systems
- Interest in learning tools such as Investran/FIS, JP Morgan Access, CitiBusiness Online
- Interest in AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT) for productivity
- A desire to explore career paths in accounting, private equity, or investment operations
