We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Accounting Intern reporting to Accounting Manager based in our Tampa Office. This internship is 20 to 30 hours per week and requires the individual to work in office.The Opportunity: This accounting intern program is to help students receive hands on learning experiences that will help them develop their knowledge and skillset in their field of major. The accounting intern will work directly with the accounting team and be mentored by the Accounting Manager during the internship program.Key Responsibilities:· Attend accounting team meetings as an observer to gain an understand of the work being performed by the accounting team. · Learn the fundamentals of a month end close process, including processing of journal entries, creation of trial balances and financial statements.· Learn how to prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and assist the accounting team in preparing certain account reconciliations.· Learn how to prepare a bank reconciliation and assist the accounting team in preparing bank reconciliations. · Assist in running reports out of the accounting and reporting system. · Perform various data comparison assignments to understand the data in a general ledger system. · Observe other key meetings that are held to review monthly results with our North America and global finance teams to understand how results are assessed after accounting closes the books for the month.Culture· Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and collaboration in all interactions.· Embrace IRONMAN’s BE ICONIC mindset by bringing an athlete‑first perspective, taking ownership of work, and showing pride in delivering exceptional experiences.· Communicate openly and constructively with teammates and cross‑functional partners to support efficient execution and problem solving.· Demonstrate adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset, learning from each event and contributing ideas to improve processes and experiences.· Act as a culture carrier onsite and offsite, recognizing that individual behaviors directly shape the athlete, volunteer, and team experience.Qualifications & Experience:· Must be in process of earning a degree in accounting or finance related field. · Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal communication.· Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.The above declarations are not intended to be an “all inclusive” list of duties and responsibilities of the job described, nor are they intended to be such a listing of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
