Family Service Association has an exciting opportunity for an unpaid internship in our Accounting department.
The Accounting Intern will assist the Finance Department with special accounting and audit-related projects designed to improve financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review monthly recurring expenses to verify all required payments have been made within the fiscal year and identify potential accruals for management review.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive 1099 vendor database, ensuring current W-9 forms and
- Certificates of Insurance are obtained and tracked when applicable.
- Support audit preparation by researching, organizing, and classifying expenditure according to accounting and reporting requirements.
- Assist with financial reconciliations, data analysis, and other accounting projects assigned.
Perform duties and special projects assigned by the Director of Financial Services to enhance the internship experience.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
- Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, a college, certificate, or workforce development program strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills are essential.
- Experience working with data, records management, administrative support, or financial information is preferred but not required.
