Accounting Generalist Position Summary The Accounting Generalist is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with various accounting functions. This role performs a portion of the accounts payable process while also supporting account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, reporting, and other administrative accounting duties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Process assigned accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, data entry, and payment preparation. Verify invoices for accuracy and proper approvals before processing. Assist with vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Maintain vendor records and support vendor communications regarding payment inquiries. Prepare and post journal entries as assigned. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances. Maintain accurate accounting records and support documentation. Assist with financial reporting and audit requests. Monitor compliance with company accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with internal departments and team members to support accounting operations. Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Education and Experience

Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable experience preferred. Experience working with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Understanding basic accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of accounts payable processes and internal controls. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an office setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis functions.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and move files, office supplies, or accounting records up to 20 pounds. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.

Work Environment

This position is a fully on-site role and requires daily attendance at the company's office location. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this position. Work is performed in a professional office environment during regular business hours. Frequent interaction with internal departments, vendors, and other team members is required.
